Easy Crochet Mouse Flipped over cup mat Pattern

A relaxing and satisfying crochet project for all levels!
Materials:
l 4 ply cotton yarn (or any yarn of your choice). I used the following colors
- Mouse: Grey, White, Pink
- Details: Black (for eyes)
l 2.5 mm crochet hook (or 3.0 mm, depending on your yarn size).
Tip: If your piece doesn’t hold its flipped shape well, try using a smaller hook or adjusting your tension while crocheting.
l 0.5 cm safety eyes for sid
l Stitch markers
l Fiberfill stuffing
l Glue (for securing small parts)
Notes:
1. The main piece is made with 2 strands of 4-ply yarn held together throughout.
2. Ch 2 at the beginning of the round, then work the first dc in the same stitch. The ch 2 is only used as a turning chain and Does Not count as a stitch.
3. It is very important to keep track of your rounds with a stitch marker.
Abbreviations & Special Stitches:
• Inc (increase): Work 2 dc/sc in the next stitch. (1 stitch becomes 2 stitches)
• Dec (I use the invisible decrease): Insert hook into front loops of the next two stitches. Yarn over and draw through first two loops. Yarn over and draw through remaining two loops.
• ch (chain): Yarn over and pull through the loop on the hook to create a chain stitch.
• sc (single crochet): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over and pull through both loops.
• dc (double crochet): Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops twice.
• sl st (slip stitch): Insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on hook.
• FO (fasten off): Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop to secure the stitch.
• reverse sc (crab stitch): Work single crochet stitches in the opposite direction (from left to right if you are right-handed, or right to left if you are left-handed). Insert hook into the previous stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook.

Mouse head
Start with Pink Yarn
R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: ch 1, ( sc, inc ) Reapet 3 times (9 sts)

Color: Gray
R4: ch 1, ( sc, inc ) Reapet 3 times (9 sts)
R5: ch 1, ( sc, inc , sc ) Reapet 3 times (12 sts)
R6: ch 1, ( 3 sc, inc ) Reapet 3 times (15 sts)
R7: ch 1, ( 6 sc, inc ) Reapet 2 times, sc (17 sts)
R8: ch 1, ( 7 sc, inc ) Reapet 2 times, sc (19 sts)
R9: ch 1, ( 8 sc, inc ) Reapet 2 times, sc (21 sts)
R10: ch 1, ( 9 sc, inc ) Reapet 2 times, sc (23 sts)

Stuff the filling
R18: Fold the piece in half, aligning the stitches from Round 17. Insert your hook through both corresponding stitches and work 7 sc across.
R19: ch 1 , turn, 7sc
Leave a long tail for sewing
Mouse eyes *2
R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: ch 1, 6 inc (12 sts)
R3-4: ch 1, 12 sc
Stuff the filling
R5: ch 1, 6 dec
Leave a long tail for sewing
Mouse ears *2
Color: Grey
R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: ch 1, 6 inc (12 sts)
R3: ch 1, 12 inc (24 sts)
R4: ch 1, BLO 24 sc
Leave a long tail for sewing
Mouse inner ears *2
Color: Pink
R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: ch 1, 6 inc (12 sts)
R3: ch 1, 12 inc (24 sts)
Fasten off and weave in end
Glue the inner ears onto the grey ears.
Mouse claw *4
Ch 12, this is foundation chain
R1: Starting from second chain from hook, Sc 11 in front loops of foundation chain. (11 sts)
Change to pink
R2: (ch 5, 1sc in 2nd st, 3 slst, slst in the hole) Reapet 4 times
Fasten off and weave in end
Glue the claws onto the bottom of the cup mat.
Mouse tail
Ch 36, 1 slst in 2nd st, 14 slst, 12 sc, 8 hdc
Fasten off and weave in end; Glue the tail onto the bottom of the cup mat.
